Answering the Call to Serve - Township Support Team Building Permitting and Sewage Permitting workshopSome photos from Building Permitting and Sewage Permitting workshop. The workshop was held at the Clarion Township Building on Thursday March 13, 2024.
CCATO partnered with the Clarion County Assessment Office, Clarion County Conservation District, Clarion County GIS/Mapping, and Clarion County Planning to facilitate this workshop. Jeff Elder, Bureau Veritas North America, Inc. and Mike Grill, Construction Code Inspectors, Inc. as well as Sewage Enforcement Officers Collin & Todd Fantaskey answered many questions relative to the Building Permitting and Sewage Permitting processes. The officials heard about Emergency Management from Britt Whitling, Clarion County Department of Public Safety. Jay Goldstein, Pennoni Associates Inc, shared in the Public Works session. Tamara Kemmler with PLGIT pointed out the advantages for the municipalities that use PLGIT as a financial institution. Jim Schepis, PennDOT Municipal Services Representative, spoke of the resources that were available to the municipalities. An overview of Municipal Finance and Budget responsibilities was addressed by Terri Cunkle, DCED. Ed LeClear, Borough of State College, explained various Land Use topics. Upcoming Workshops |

LTAP - Erosion and Sedimentation Control
When: Thursday, June 6, 2024 from 8:00 AM until noon.
Where: Clarion Township Building, 17382 Route 322, Strattanville, PA 16258
CCATO is partnering with the Northwest Commission to present this workshop.
The course will educate municipal employees on the importance of erosion and sedimentation control, including the importance of post construction stormwater management. It will review erosion and sedimentation and the control measures. The installation procedures and examples of the measures will be described. The municipality’s role in monitoring post construction stormwater management will be discussed. The steps on developing your own erosion and sediment plan will be reviewed.
Intended Audience: Individuals who are performing maintenance or construction on or near municipal roadways or bridges, and employees responsible for MS4 E&S and PCSM inspections, including: roadmasters, crew foremen, equipment operators and laborers. Others who would benefit from this course include municipal managers and elected officials to understand the importance and for budgeting purposes.
